Message I've got my TT in the city (tho it's an auto). The big things to watch out for are potholes (sometimes tough to see at night), buses (large, but don't care about cars), cabs (crazy, but generally predictable) and SUV's with kids from the burbs (crazy, large and unpredictable). I drove my old 2+2 in the city a few times (5 spd) which was a bit of a pain, but certainly doable. I'd avoid the village as traffic there is clutch-burningly congested on weekend nights and pick a dinner spot near the river (upper west side has a lot of good restaurants on Columbus in the 70's / 80's). Both the FDR and West Side highway can get a little crazy, but you can get a nice spin near lower manhattan in the evening (Wall St area) when traffic clears out. Stay safe, take it slow and have fun!
